Jackson Hole - The Perfect Summer Getaway

Jackson Hole comes alive in the summer from June to September offering many activities and adventures throughout the valley and Grand Teton National Park. It offers long daylight hours and unbeatable weather to explore and enjoy the outdoors.

Where to Stay

Amangani meaning “peaceful home” is Aman’s first North American resort set on a cliff edge overlooking the beautiful meadows below. This 40-suite resort also offers the Homes at Amangani which are spectacular villas available for rental. The gorgeous infinity swimming pool is heated and can be enjoyed year-round. With a quiet, intimate atmosphere, this resort is best for couples and adults.

A luxurious boutique hotel nestled in Teton Village with only 8 suites – 4 two-bedroom suites and 4 four-bedroom suites. A perfect choice for families or groups of friends, each suite has a fully equipped chefs’ kitchen, large living room, dining area and outdoor space with mountain views. The four-bedroom suites sleep 10-12 people and the two-bedroom suites sleep 4 people. There is a restaurant, bar, spa and fitness center onsite and during winter months this property is ski in/ski out.

Also located in Teton Village, this resort is much larger with 156 guest rooms, including 18 suites and 32 residences. Almost all rooms have beautiful views of the mountains or valley from private balconies. The 75-foot outdoor pool is heated year-round and complimentary afternoon hot chocolate and s’mores make it a perfect choice for families.

What to Do

White Water Rafting

Take an 8-mile journey down the Snake River with Class II-III rapids, stunning scenery and calm stretches. A great activity for anyone over the age of 6 years old, you do not need any prior experience but be prepared to get wet. You can rent wet suits and shoe covers if you prefer and leave phones and bags on the bus. There are also scenic river trips for those who prefer something calmer.

Hiking

Grand Teton National Park has over 70 different hiking trails for all levels. We hiked the 7.6-mile Jenny Lake Loop & Inspiration Point which was a great moderate hike that can be done in a long morning or afternoon. For those who are looking for something shorter you can take the Jenny Lake Ferry across and do a quick side trip up to Inspiration Point for the views.

Wildlife Tour

We took a sunset wildlife tour of the best wildlife hotspots in Grand Teton National park with a wonderful guide from the comfort of a 4X4 safari style vehicle. The tour is also available at sunrise, lasts roughly 4 hours and we spotted moose with babies, bison, elk, a bear and bald eagles. The guide was able to provide knowledge about local ecology, animal behavior, geology and cultural history of the area.

The activities in the area are endless and include fly fishing, kayaking, paragliding, mountain biking, horseback riding, scenic flights, camping, golfing or a day trip to nearby Yellowstone National Park.
