Casting Call - Travel Movies, Starring YOU!

Wanderlust with Us Issue XV - July 2, 2020 - Hollywood Edition - Casting Call for YOU!

We're stuck with dusty photos, Polaroids in some cases, if we can find them, from our vacations with our parents. But, what if five years from now you could jump into a time machine and experience the incredible memories with your family all over again? Two of our favorite clients are inviting you to do just that, absolutely no charge to you, and even with your own real life Hollywood editor. If you have photos and videos hiding in your iPhone among thousands, consider this opportunity to make them come alive again with your own mini movie.

Client Profile: Ryan Hegenberger and Jack Giarraputo, URLIFE Media

This week's Behind the Scenes features Jack Giarraputo and Ryan Hegenberger, Hollywood Producers, co-founders of URLIFE Media - and loyal Camelback Clients. Ryan and Jack talk about their background - getting started in Hollywood, how they came up with the idea for URLIFE and where their last travel plans were - or where their next plans will take them.

Meet Jack...

Tell us a bit about your background – how did you get started in Hollywood? JACK: My college classmate, Adam Sandler, and I started Happy Madison Productions and made 30 movies in 20 years. It was here that I learned the power of editing. When I transitioned out of Hollywood to become a full-time Dad, that lesson was not lost on me. That’s why we started URLIFE. Editing for the full-time Dads - and Moms too!

How’d you come up with the idea for URLIFE?

JACK: I believe that the vacation should not end when you return home. With the power of the personal editor, you can now relive your good times again and again. I spent this past Father’s Day showing my last ten years of vacation videos to the kids. The memories were amazing to me. And most were new to the kids. They didn’t remember the first trip to Europe, Africa or Japan! Trust me, create this time capsule now, so you can do the same in ten years.

Where was the last place you traveled to – or the first place you can’t wait to go next?

JACK: My last trip with the family was a Long Island Summer trip in August. Our trip to Israel was canceled due to COVID, but that is first on my list when this is all over.

Meet Ryan...

Tell us a bit about your background – how did you get started in Hollywood?

My career began on the marketing side of the entertainment industry - working for all the major Hollywood Studios and streaming services. Over the course of my career, I have created and produced movie trailers and marketing campaigns for some of the biggest films in history - helping to generate over $16B in box office sales. I met Jack while working on one of his movies, Little Nicky, over 20 years ago.

How’d you come up with the idea for URLIFE? RYAN: Everyone was already capturing their vacations, experiences, and life events using their smartphones, but there wasn’t a good solution on how to memorialize and share the entire story. Maybe you could share a picture or one video clip but more than likely it’s just taking up storage space. We decided we could bring our unique background in producing films and short form video marketing to the consumer side and give the power of editing and storytelling to the high-end traveler.

Where was the last place you traveled to – or the first place you can’t wait to go next?

RYAN: My wife, Emily, and I were in the Galapagos Islands on a Silversea Cruise as the pandemic was picking up momentum. We were traveling back to Los Angeles on March 11th, just 2-3 days prior to the quarantine. I can’t tell you how many times we have looked at our movie from that trip. It’s transformative and with everything going on in the world around us, it’s nice to escape back to the Galapagos whenever we want.
