Africa Beyond The Safari Experience
Africa offers so much more than a safari experience. It's home to some of the most beautiful souls, breathtaking views, diverse sites and unbelievable experiences you can't find anywhere else on the planet. From the vast deserts and beautiful lakes to tropical rain forests, stunning beaches and tall mountains among other landscapes you never knew existed.
Namibia Flying Safari
The best way to see the magnificent landscapes and surreal beauty of Namibia is from a plane high up in the skies. On this flying safari which can be 6 or 8 nights you will travel across the country on a series of short flights spending two nights in each location. Start off at Kwessi Dunes before swooping over the towering dunes of Sossuvlei and touching down briefly for lunch in Swakopmunnd and continuing over the Atlantic Coastline spending two nights in the Hoanib Valley. From there drive to the Skeleton Coast to stay in the award-winning Shipwreck Lodge before flying back to Windhoek.
Gorilla Trekking in Rwanda or Uganda
One of the world's most awe inspiring experiences is tracking the mountain gorillas in the wild. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda is home to half the world’s gorilla population and the country offers big 5 parks among other safari experiences like tracking chimps in Kibale Forest or viewing the tree climbing lions of Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Known as the Land of 1000 Hills, Rwanda is the cleanest country in Africa with a powerful history and new luxurious lodges like Singita Kwitonda, One&Only Gorillas Nest and Bisate Lodge. This country also has a big 5 park along with golden monkey trekking in Nyungwe National Park.
Madagascar: Off the Beaten Path
A treasure trove of nature that shelters exotic life forms found nowhere else on the planet like lemurs and colorful chameleons, Madagascar has been isolated from mainland Africa since the time of the dinosaurs. There are rich rain forests, spiny deserts and seven national parks and reserves which offer guided hikes, wildlife conservation projects and the famed Avenue of the Baobobs.
Remote Worlds of Ethiopia
A fascinating mix of cultures, tradition and history with its Orthodox Christian heritage, array of tribes in the Great Rift Valley and stunning UNESCO Heritage rock hewn churches of Lalibela. From the mountain highlands in the north with centuries old cities and churches, to the tribal cultures located in the remote Omo Valley in the south - Ethiopia has amazing one of a kind experiences to offer.
Incredible Beaches
Africa is home to some of the most beautiful beach destinations in the world. The island of Zanzibar located off Tanzania is popular with many travelers and pairs easily with a post safari extension but there are many others that shouldn’t be missed. There are the remote, otherworldly islands of the Seychelles and the multi-cultural, adventurous island of Mauritius; full of luxury resorts and endless activities. Mozambique is often overlooked and offers easy flight connections from South Africa to its gorgeous, pristine Azura resorts. Although Kenya is mostly celebrated for its national parks and wildlife, it’s also home to some of the continent’s best beaches such as Diani, Watamu, Lamu and Mailindi among others.
Egypt – Look Past Cairo
