A Weekend in San Francisco & Big Sur

On this 3 day trip to San Francisco I got to discover such authentic parts of the city ranging from Golden Gate all the way to North Beach and the Mission District.

We stayed at the amazing Taj San Francisco that stands across the street from the ever classic Union Square. Union Square is known for it's shopping district, many restaurants and hosting activities. This location seemed to be "in the middle" of everything so you were in close proximity to urban restaurants and hole-in-the-wall eateries of the Mission District and only a few miles from Golden Gate Park and North Beach.

After checking in at the hotel we took a nice(long) walk and eventually hopped on the trolley up to Fisherman's wharf for the food trucks/concessions along the tail end of the market. We spent the rest of the afternoon walking around the wharf beaches and enjoying a beer and chocolate in Ghirardelli square. The next day we made a wind chilling adventure next to the bridge at a large park and spent the day admiring its beauty.

The next day we decided to grab some local coffee and drive down to Big Sur for the night on our way back to Phoenix. We made the drive through Big Sur national park and Pfieffer to get a couple hikes in the redwood forests.

We stayed at the BEAUTIFUL Shore Cliff Hotel and had a room that overlooked the ocean front. The water makes the most soothing sound as it crashed against the giant cliffs that the property sit on. With many outside lounge and swing chairs, it was so serene to sit out there the next morning and take in the sunrise on the horizon. There was an amazing restaurant a short walk from the hotel called Ventana Grill where we tried just about every type of seafood until I was so full that I couldn't move!
