“Home Home on the Range”

“Where the deer and the buffalo play”

“where never is heard, a discouraging word”

“And the skies are not cloudy all day”

If you don’t think international travel is what you want to do this summer, a wonderful alternative for couples, singles and families is a Western Ranch experience. From the Rivers and forests of Montana, to the mountains of Colorado and the canyons of Utah, there is a home on the range for every budget and activity.

Completely remote, the activities include horseback riding, fishing, hiking, kayaking, fabulous food and loads of kids activities. Families fall in love with the experience. Bear sightings top the list.

Located between Durango and Telluride in Colorado. It’s an old silver mining town which was totally in ruins. The new owners were told they’d have to tear it down and build anew. Hot Springs both inside and out for year round use – very romantic. Four miles down the road, a luxury 12 tent camp, its own chef and dining room makes a perfect take over for groups, weddings or celebrations. Whether there in the April snow, as we were, summer mountain The cabins are single rooms or multi-bedroom for families. Community dining and an authentic western bar make happy hour and meals fun and entertaining as one listens to tales of hikes, wildlife spotted, fish caught. Sunny weather or Fall leaves, it’s a true Western authentic experience.
