Didi's Travel Bio
| What is your travel vision? |
| Having produced television commercials and most recently non-profit documentaries, Didi now looks to produce meaningful vacations and travel experiences. Travel is important in that it opens minds; what better gift for the next generation? "Voluntourism" is one way Didi hopes to enhance travel experiences. Seeing beyond the destination and into the lives of its residents is a powerful means of understanding different cultures. Adventure travel is another way to experience a destination that is empowering and impactful. A combination of the two is a win-win as these travel experiences will bring families and friends together and create wonderful, life-long memories. Didi looks forward to creating these experiences for you! |

| What's in your carry on? |
I take my IPOD Nano or Touch with me everywhere. I can photograph and record video to document my travel days. Having the music to block out background noise and ebooks on long flights is great too! |
 |
| What is your most memorable or most inspiring travel experience? |
My most memorable experience that really inspired me to make travel a career was when we visited New York City at Thanksgiving. What child or parent wouldn’t enjoy welcoming the holiday season in the big apple! We started off our day at The Trump Towers at Columbia Circle watching the parade three stories up. The floats were right at eye-level! Being at the start of the parade, we left Central Park early enough in the day for one more amazing experience. We took the subway to Wall Street where we honored those lost on 9/11. Around the corner we donned our aprons and served Thanksgiving Dinner to 75 houseless New Yorkers who were truly grateful for what they had, a meal. It was a memorable and defining day for our family. |

| What has been your best culinary experience/
memorable meal while traveling?
|
| Locanda dell Isola Comacina, Lake Como, Italy....truly a gastronomique experience!!! We started in Cernobbia, Italy and drove up the beautiful coast to Sala Comacina. A water-taxi was waiting to transport us to the island that looked vacant, but housed an experience I will never forget!!! A five-course interactive meal includes beautiful vegetables, delicious chicken and fish even my kids enjoyed!!! The Parmigiano cheese was served straight from the largest round I had ever seen...truly an event in itself. However, it is the experience of the after-lunch coffee that has left an indelible mark. Benvento, the owner, performs the “exorcism of fire” which involves lots of brandy and sugar...I won’t give it all away....it’s worth the trip! |
 |
| What is the one destination/experience you still want to go/have? |
Tibet and Nepal are high on my bucket list...having lived at 10,000 feet for a good part of my life, the Himalayans call me. These countries house landscapes as diverse as their peoples, cultures and religions.
Starting in Lhasa to soak in the Buddhist culture and visit the sites that exude spirituality. Later, I’d wander off in search of the Yetis and the yaks...tiny villages filled with color and culture unknown in our part of the world. I have dreamed of climbing Everest, but just being in the country trekking with the people, would fill my cup. |
